Oh, I hope it means that the bird was hatched, matured and then left the nest. Where did you find it?
I took a bunch of pictures of a robin's nest in our yard. One thing that amazes me about them is how fast those damn babies develop!

I love the composition and the "blueness" of the shot. Is the ISO set high?
great shot. this egg is so clean beautiful
Kate- it was next to a sapling tree in someone's front yard. Since most robins hatched in May, I think, whatever happened to this egg probably happened back then.
SPK- I have never seen a robin's nest. I'll just have to make do with seeing your photos. :) And no, I generally set my ISO speed to 100. I absolutely LOATHE the graininess you get at higher ISOs... and I don't like messing with the ISO speed every time I'm about to take a photo... and 100 allows me to use the camera in the daytime... so 100 it is. Maybe I'll play with 200 at some point.
Don- The shot is actually a little blurry... but as long as you didn't notice, thank you. :D
I love the blue & I don't see any blur :) Go figure...........
