Spring Lake train station at dusk. I was actually trying to get a picture of the last glow of sunset, but by the time I'd jogged up the street (in shoes not intended for jogging), that last bit of pink had disappeared.
I make no apologies for the lens flares/moisture on the lens.
Guess what! Yesterday, when I was in Ocean Grove for a concert, I saw some kid taking the exact photo I'd already posted yesterday. Ohhhh well, we always knew I was unoriginal! The sky wasn't nearly as awesome yesterday, though. His loss.

Uhhhhhhhh. Maybe. But I used my left hand as a protective tent for the camera! Does that count for something?
Spring Lake stocks its lake with trout, according to a sign. (To me, this seems stupid and cruel, kind of like rich guys who buy lions just so they can hunt them and shoot them... but what do I know?) Fishing season legally started in early April, so the fisherpeople are out and about.
Man oh man. I hauled my tripod around and got several neat photos last night, but unfortunately, NOT A ONE was taken in Monmouth County. So here's a shot of Spring Lake station that I finally got around to salvaging.
The footbridge over Spring Lake's lake (..."Spring Lake," perhaps it's called) is festively decorated for Christmas!
Again, I have issues with this image, but the page needed some red.
There's a whole long row of these things on the side of St. Andrew's Methodist Church in Spring Lake, where the Atlantic Wind Ensemble usually rehearses.

Taken looking down into Spring Lake. At least, that's what I'm ASSUMING that huge-ass lake smack-dab in the middle of Spring Lake, NJ is called.
I'm thinking of getting this camera. It's a Fuji S700- not an SLR (which I really don't need at my level), but costs less as my current one did (two years ago!) and, from what I can tell, is about twice as good. Thoughts? Beyond the fact that I'm currently unemployed, is there some other glaring reason I shouldn't get this camera?
