At this size, the underside of the mushroom (which reminds me of an air filter) takes on a much greater role in the picture as compared to MCDP's version.
You know, you are a Fungi - but there's not Mushroom here.
Bad joke, I suck.
This is a better shot, I think - appears larger anyway.
The highlighted ridges under the cap are still what grabs my eye.
A great perspective, too.
John- Well, that's the only bit that's in focus, so I'm GLAD your eye is going THERE.
SPK- I suck too! Guess what my first ever entry back when I started photoblogging was? The friend who got me into photoblogging in the first place has been calling me "fungal" ever since.
Nikon- I like the large version, too. It's all like, WHAAAA! Grass blades are as big as your pencil! What's happening?!
Nice photo. I thought, on the portal, this was Darth Vader. I really did.
Josy, I find that some of the grass is sufficiently in focus to draw some of the attention away from Darth Filter. That's mostly what I meant by "balance" on MCDP.
I wonder if one can generally get away with a little more fuzziness in black and white. As if B&W automatically confers a degree of artsiness to a shot, and thus some license to be less objective or literal.
Alice in Wonderland in black and white. This stirs the imagination, for sure!
Glad it's got everyone's imaginations going. :)
