hibiscus
About a month ago, I purchased a hibiscus to give to a friend the following week. Since I knew nothing about hibiscuses and wanted to avoid killing the plant during the week that it was in my possession, I did some research into hibiscus care, and everything I read said that they weren't thrilled with extreme heat and they WOULD DIE if exposed to freezing temperatures!
Apparently this does not apply to every hibiscus; during the past few weeks, I have noticed quite a lot of outdoor hibiscuses that seem very firmly rooted into the ground, meaning they must be annually subjected to freezing Jersey winters.
This may seem obvious, but I've never been one to really notice the local flora.
