Kinda looks like a bridal bouquet, doesn't it?

It appears that there are several kinds of maples (NO KIDDING), and they all come out of their winter hibernation differently. Some begin with red buds and helicopters before they sprout leaves, and some, like this one, grow leaves first.

You can tell that this bud will probably evolve by the hour as the leaves make it burst open.
