I like photographing weeds. It works all right with whatever semblance of a style/ reputation/ aesthetic I'm trying to develop, I think.
Okay. So. After nearly 6 months of photoblogging (all of it INSPIRED by the City Daily Photo people), I am now OFFICIALLY A MEMBER of the family! (That's why you see the little widget in my sidebar now.)
Let's break out the plum wine! WOOHOOOOOO!

I agree. There seem to be relatively few bug macros (certainly in comparison to flowers, say) so it's nice to see one here. And this particular ant turns out to be quite photogenic. It's actually kind of cute (as opposed to gross, which is my usual reaction to bugs and bug-like things).
The colors are brilliant to the point of bursting, but I like it. The subject and composition make it seem like some kind of surreal, fantasy world anyway (like Xanth maybe) so the color saturation works very well here.
And congratulations on your very well deserved DP listing! :)
