The Daily Photo Theme Day is a "view from my room."
This is the view from my room.
Incidentally, I don't spend a lot of time in my room.
(Check out MCDP for a wider-angle shot of this rooftop; visit the Daily City Photo Blog to see what official DPers have come up with for this theme!)

Hey, my room in my parent's house, my view is also the roof of our house!
Happy Theme Day!
If nothing else, it allows for a slightly easier escape in case of fire. ;)
Happy Theme Day to you, too!
this crop works better...
I think so, too, but it's a little disorienting, which is why I posted the other context-providing photo on the other site.
It makes it much easier for you to enjoy a "night on the tiles" ha, ha!
[Aaargh! Just when I think I'm getting the hang of using Blogger's comment system (and thus losing fewer of my comments before posting them), the server goes down, taking my comment-in-progress with it! Well, here is a paraphrase:]
The fire escape angle was actually one of the first things I thought of when I saw this, though the effect is much stronger on MCDP.
I am beginning to think maybe I should make this the first of the two sites to visit, to give it the best chance of making an impact. I happened to luck out and see the silver "hair" here first, and while it still would have been neat to see it after already knowing what it was, I probably would not have gotten the same jolt.
Also, as The One With The Weird Screen And Browser Settings, as well as General Web Issue Raiser, I suppose it falls upon me to mention that the word "photobloggers" in your new City DP search thingy (which is très cool!) gets cut off on my screen (partway through the 'R'). I don't know if you should bother fixing it, as you certainly don't want the sidebar to get TOO wide, and I am quite possibly the only one who actually has this problem.
you made it on the dp list! congrats.
Curly- But opening my window causes such an awful racket. I've only sat out on that rooftop once or twice.
John- I am so sorry for Blogger's ineptitude. Wow. Really.
Y'know, you COULD just visit one of my blogs. Just choose your favorite and ignore the other one. ;)
Is the sidebar better now?
James- Yes! I'm going to blog about it tonight. Because I'm cool like that.
Josy, visiting only one of your blogs is like only using peanut butter or only using jelly. Mind you, I do like either one on its own. (Well, jelly is pretty silly without something to spread it on, but um, I guess we can use the Internet as bread in this fanciful analogy.)
And yes, the sidebar has been tidied up nicely. I feel so guilty though; it seems all I do is complain about niggling little Web things, on my highly nonstandard setup, no less.
(That is, when I'm not busy being thoughtless, mean, and offensive.)
John, I ate nothing but peanut butter sandwiches (no jelly) for the first 6 years of my life (after I was eating solid foods, of course). Sure you can have just one without the other!
Don't worry about nagging- if the formatting is a problem for you, odds are that it'll look wrong for someone else, too. It could look wrong for a famous celebrity! What if Hugh Hefner or someone looked at my site? I wouldn't want him thinking I'm a complete putz because my sidebar is screwed up. So thank you for not letting me embarrass myself. I appreciate it.
The next time I get invited to the mansion, I'll ask Hef to take a look.
Josy, I like peanut butter enough to eat it by itself, without even bread. But PB&J happen to be very good together, and I while I certainly could live without one or the other, I would rather not give up either one.
You guys make me LAUGH. Or, at the very least, snort in an unladylike fashion.
