double rainbow
Monmouth County experienced a double rainbow tonight!
The sky was dark around suppertime, and rain started falling around 7:00. Around 7:15, it started getting lighter, but the rain was still comin' down. And we all know what rain + sun equals! Hopeful, I went outside (with my camera nice and dry beneath my jacket).
NOTHING.
I went back inside and took off my jacket; within 3 minutes my mother called (from 10 miles away).
"Look outside! There's a double rainbow!!!"
"But I was JUST out there, looking!"
"Well, it's out NOW! I'm staring straight at it! Go look!"
So I did, and there it was.
Both of the rainbows were FULL ARCS, too, but suburbia with all its fabulous trees and rooftops was in the way, so I couldn't photograph the whole thing.
But still. VERY COOL.

Amazing shot - it looks like the rainbow on the left is molded perfectly over that tree.
Nice photography. Unusual to see two rainbows. Twice as many pots of gold.
I am back from my self-imposed vacation.

Lincoln- It IS unusual. I think the last time I saw one was when I was 3, in the supermarket parking lot.
Wow! How lucky and so beautiful ;)

Zappy- It certainly made my day! Stay on your toes for one near you! :D
SPK- I KNOW!!!
But I can't photograph lightning, so you win.
Wow. I can't tell you how long it has been since I saw a rainbow here. To see a Double Rainbow would be absolutely amazing.
Believe me, Ann, they sure ain't common here, either!
