roots
Underneath the zucchinis! The "big" roots are like a millimeter in diameter.
(This is just a reminder that New Jersey IS, in fact, the Garden State.)
If you consider that a zucchini plant doesn't stop where it hits the ground, but CONTINUES below the ground... then you will concede that the above-ground bit is the TOP and the below-ground bit is the BOTTOM. So I am submitting this for Macroday "bottom."
Edit: and, um, apparently that submission was a good choice on my part. I won said Macroday "competition!" I'd like to thank everyone who made this happen...

Much like Hemingway's "iceberg" theory of writing - honest :)
The top part of the photo - the roots look exceptionally white - nice effect.
Nice shot.
I didn't even know we had a macro day.
Baby raccoons. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

That's all I thought of when I saw your headline.
Nikon- to be compared to Hemingway, especially by you, is a grave honor. Thanks, good sir. :)
Lincoln- "We" don't, if by "we" you mean "city daily photobloggers." There's a whole 'nother world of photoblogging out there- check out my sidebar.
Bob- Zucchinis are the new Pollocks! See, I just thought it looked like mold. :)
SPK- I was thinking that when I made the title, too! That and some Canadian band or something.
I like the "Jackson Pollock of the Dirt" :)
LOL, you're going beyond macro & heading to micro.
Nikon, I was GOING to say that I ought to find some colored roots and go with that analogy... but Pollock himself barely used color. Hmmmmmm..
