it's raining gumballs!

This is an American Sweetgum tree, which drops little burr-type fruits that we call "gumballs." ...Well, I call 'em "gumballs," anyway, and it's an accepted term for the things. Back in the day, we used the dried-out fruits for Girl Scout projects.
